A guy whose wife is said to be mentally ill is being probed for allegedly assaulting her while washing her.
According to pulse.ng, a Nigerian man named Abiodun got into difficulty with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team after his neighbors filed complaints against him.
The event occurred on Ajigbotinu Street, Pero Bus-Stop, in the Agege district of Lagos State, according to the news agency.
In a distressing video, Abiodun is seen hitting his wife, Zahidat, while attempting to get her to wash her teeth.
In response to the claimed mistreatment, a social media user known as @PJ Somie stated that the mother of three children had been exposed to abuse at the hands of her husband for the previous eight years.
"This is Zahidat, a mother of three, and the gentleman brushing up against her is her husband." This has been going on for almost 8 years, and she is in desperate need of justice. She is psychologically, physically, and emotionally exhausted, and she is unable to communicate. If this man has chopped her tongue, only God knows; this is pure evil. She said, "This man has to be put in his place; she really needs help."
Mama Iyana, the couple's next-door neighbor, praised the guy for cleaning his mentally ill wife, but said the use of force was improper.
"Zahidat's mental health is a problem for her. However, her husband's use of force against her is unjust. She lacks the ability to make sound judgments for herself.
She can't manage her mental abilities, thus she can't control herself.
"The woman in question is a mother of three children, and I don't blame the husband for cleaning her up, but employing force is not an option."
