Sadio Mane admits he will try to leave Liverpool this summer

Sadio Mane has admitted that he will try to leave Liverpool this summer after six seasons at the club.

The forward’s contract at Anfield runs until 2023 but after months of negotiations over a new deal, the club have been informed that he is not willing to extend his stay on Merseyside.

90min understands that the 30-year-old’s agents recently informed the Reds of his desire to leave the club, with Bayern Munich keen on a summer transfer.

Mane insisted he would reveal his plans for the future following the Champions League final but he remained silent in the days that followed Real Madrid’s triumph at the Stade de France.

But he has now discussed his future at a press conference while on international duty with Senegal, where it was put to him that ’60 to 70 per cent’ of residents in his home country want him to leave Liverpool.

“I will do what they want. We will see soon,” Mane revealed.

Liverpool are open to selling Mane this summer but will only do so on their terms, insisting any interested club would have to pay in excess of £40m for him.
