Medikal's application for an American visa was turned down because she allegedly flaunted a gun on social medikal
.
According to reports, the Ghanaian rapper applied for an American visa and was seen on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the American Embassy in Accra after attending an interview for his travel application.
According to reports, the rapper from "Omo Ada" appeared at the embassy at around 7.30 am wearing a black sweatshirt and a face mask. His time at the Embassy, however, was brief because his application was turned down.
According to Ghanaweb.com, "our source revealed that the decision to bounce him was linked to a gun brandishing incident for which he was found guilty earlier this year." The website also notes that Armani, a labelmate of Medikal, had his application for an American visa rejected.
The visa interview location was also where Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie was sighted with his wife and daughter. King Sark and his family received visas, according to the site, while they were at the American Citizens Service/ACS immigration desk at the Embassy.
With multiple shooting incidents in the country over the last few years, America has been battling gun-related violence. It is unclear whether its strict measures to reduce shooting incidents influenced the Visa Officer to deny Medikal entry to the United States.
